Bill Maher was trying to say something profound about religion and at that he failed. Gonzo was cool. Hunter S. Thompson is an interesting guy. I think it helps if you've read some of his books (Which I haven't), but Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas the film is a great companion piece with the doc.
